I got this years ago for $60. It's a little handheld field recorder with a built in USB port, micro SD card, and a “meh” sound quality. Think electric tooth brush meets toothpicks in your ears. 

I always keep it in my pocket for those stray ideas that hit me while driving to work, taking a shower, or playing video games. 

Fun fact: the guitar you hear on “Colors" was recorded with this thing. Here's the story…

I was at a friend's house for a bonfire and his guitarist brother was over. We were talking about whether or not having long fingernails is helpful for playing acoustic guitar. He demonstrated how fingernails are better than being cut like mine.

When he did that, he played a really beautiful guitar piece he wrote in high school. I asked if I could record him playing it for a potential song idea. That blossomed into the song, “Colors.”
